Aborting the sending of a message (Outlook 2000 Sr1a)

Is there a way to abort a message once the MAPI spooler starts sending it? I accidently sent a message where the attachment was 10mb and NOTHING could stop it. Not even re-starting the computer. It obstinately went on sending it till the deed was done.

Possibly yanking the Ethernet cable, then changing the send/receive options to "manual" then logging off and onto OL. Maybe then you could delete it from the Outbox. (Needless to say, I'm not going to be testing this scenario!)
