Outlook opens .doc files as a graphic and will not display it

When one of my clients gets an attachment that has a .doc extension, it will only open it as a graphic type file and not display it correctly. He is running Office 2007 for all his MS apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and has all current patches installed. If he saves it to disc and opens it with Word, it opens without any issues. I had him forward the email to me, and I have no issues displaying (previewing it) within Outlook. If he double clicks it from Explorer, it opens correctly in Word. The .doc file type is defaulted to Word in the file types. No other users in his company has this issue. Any suggestions on where to look?
