    USB Extension cables

If I am buying an extension cable for an external [USB] drive, is what I want USB 2.0 Active Extension / Repeater Cable A Male to A Female?

Basically, A Male to A Female? I don't know that I need the repeater or not...

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

Clint, I hate to sound dumb -- which I certainly have in the past -- but I dunno. Is A2A mael/male? Wouldn't an extension cable be female (receiving the plug-in) / male (able to plug into the device?

On the one end I have/need the "plug into a plugable" -- instead of a USB port -- end, and on the other I have the end that actually goes into the device.

Is the Female/Male? And what do they mean A/A?

What you see in the above link is a USB extention cable, that's it. Nothing less, nothing more.
Have a close look at the photo to see if it is what you are looking for.

Anything else would be a replacement for a specific device, not an extention cable unless a longer USB device cable is what is actually needed.

Yea...no, it IS just an extension I need, as I have the specific pug-in cord, and the wall-plug converter.

    Thanks,
    Chuck

All "extension" data cables will have a male plug at one end and a matching female plug at the other - that's what an extension cable means!
