Lightbulb Alternative to Typing in a P/W

For those who think it a pain having to type in a P/W (each time) to get into their Windows8, be aware that there is an alternative...

Instead of such a P/W, one can use a picture. You simply make 3 'marks' on that picture to have access. The 'marks' can be made by mouse or Touch.

Here is where this is done or set-up...

Whenever I get to the screen where I am to choose a picture I get an Enrollment Failure. It never allows me to choose a picture to enable this.

Hmmm. how strange...dunno what to offer Obviously, I hit no such snag. Wish I could have a bigger & better response; sorry, Ted.

I'll wait until Win 8 RP and see what happens. Could be one of those snags we have been talking about. I'll just keep inputting my PW the old fashioned way.

No worries, Ted. Just another of me trying to bring awareness to people of various things (choices) available that they might use & do. And I do expect we will see noticeable & significant changes or whatever in the next Beta.

    Cheers,
    Drew

Myself, I quite like using the picture method. Nice, personal photo fills the screen & doing the Log-in/'Password' motions is quicker than typing in my P/W.

    Cheers,
    Drew

Do you use the picture method with a Live log in or with a local account? I have the Live Log in on my PC.

The only Log-in I know of or knew about, used to enter ('your') Windows8; uses one's E-mail & P/W (Windows Live ID)... well when you go to set up the picture method, you put in that same P/W that was already being used, then, organize the picture. Yes, Live. Hope, I'm answering what your asking, Ted. & when the picture comes up @ boot, one can revert back to the typed P/W, if desired... choice is offered to the side of the picture.

    Cheers,
    Drew

That answers my question, but I still get the enrollment error so I will just wait for the RP. Only got a couple of weeks.

& Ted, so sorry, still dunno what to say about that error . Although, I'm curious @ what point you get this. Anyway, certainly, not a big deal, right now; of course, just wait a short time & experiment w/ it on the RP

    Cheers,
    Drew

When I first try to change to Picture sign on I am asked to enter present password, which I do. I then go to the screen to Choose Picture. I click on the Choose Picture button the Enrollment Failure comes up and asks me to try later.
