Users who have a reliable .pdf creator may not have discovered the latest free version of PrimoPDF. Once installed, a desktop icon appears called "PrimoPDF-Drop Files." By simply dragging a file name onto this icon and waiting a minute, a .pdf version of the file is created, displayed, and filed in the same folder as the original file. As close to magic as anything I've seen recently.

2012-05-25 03:11Readers should be aware that PrimoPDF requires the .NET 2.0 bloatware (something which I prefer to avoid on my mission-critical machines). Caveat emptor.
