    Can Win7x64 boot from a hardware-RAID 1?

I'm running an ASUS P5Q3 delluxe mobo, Win 7 64-bit, 12GB RAM, 120GB SSD as the C drive, and a bunch of other disks. I would like to add a second SSD to make the C drive a RAID 1 for reliability reasons. I think this board has hardware RAID capabilities, though I don't know how to make that happen: when I RAIDed the C drive, the system wouldn't boot, but maybe I didn't do it correctly???
    Any advice, please?

Hardware RAID is the most reliable method, but the build overhead may be a pain - you cannot convert an existing installation, it must be new.
Personally I'd save the money and get a free backup program - like Macrium Reflect - and schedule a daily data backup and a weekly image backup. Then if you do have a failure you can recover the image.

    cheers, Paul
