    "Not a valid product key"

I'm trying to reinstall Office 10 on the same computer where I had it before, but after the C:/drive had to be formatted and Windows 7 reinstalled. Microsoft now informs me that the product key is invalid. I suspect that this is because Microsoft thinks it is a different computer. Can anyone tell me the quickest way to get past this nasty headache?

Give MS a phone call. They are very accommodating with these type requests.

    Phone activation

Thanks for the help. Phone activation worked, though I first had to install Office 2010 without activation so I could use the Help in an Office application (and *not* check "activate automatically over the Internet') to get to the Activation Wizard. I was prompted by a robot to recite one very long number by voice -- 72 digits! and another with the keyboard, 48 digits. I'm not sure that I'll have a product key which I can simply enter with the keyboard, or will have to use phone activation for any future installations. I'm not sure either why the product key that came with the product stopped working, though I think it was probably because Microsoft saw my computer as a different one because it had a different C:\ drive.

Glad the phone activation worked. Yes the number sequence is long, but it works.
