    Floating figures in Word 2010

Has anyone found a clear, complete explanation of how to use floating figures to make a figure appear at the top or bottom of the page containing the figure reference?

I've found lots of explanations of how to use floating figures, but none that explain how to accomplish this rather basic task, although several state that it's possible.

Insert the floating or wrapped figure (or insert it inline with text and then change the wrap). Right click the figure and click Size and Position > Position tab. Set the vertical alignment to top or bottom relative to the margin. The anchor stays with the paragraph where it was inserted, which should also be the paragraph that discusses the figure.

At last, something that works! Thank you.

It's obvious once explained, but there are too many options to sort through.

You're welcome. It took me a while too. But I found dragging even more frustrating.
