I have installed a "Core" version of Windows Server 2012.

Has anyone figured out how to open the control panel? there is a file \Windows\System32\control.exe and it's about the right size, 114,688 KB.

This file will popup a controp panel window in Windows 8 (and I'm guessing in Windows Server 2012 GUI), but in Windows Server 2012 Core it won't.

You also can't install Internet Explorer. You can however install Firefox.

Core implies it is only the server component, not the management add-ons or apps.

    cheers, Paul
