    Windows Live Demise

I just read an article in Woody's Secrets Newsletter. Woody states "Last week, Microsoft officially started tolling the bell for
Windows Live's demise. I believe that the Newsletter was dated 05/09/2012.

Does that mean that soon, I'll be able to uninstall all those extra programs that loaded with WLM? Woody says that the programs will soon be orphans. I surely hope so.

It appears right now that the Windows Live programs will be supported as long as Windows 7 is supported. That does not mean there will be enhancements. But, any enhancements would most likely be limited to supporting changes in the online/cloud offerings.

Even now, you should be able to uninstall those programs you don't want.

When you first install WLE, you choose which of the suite's app you want to install. For example I chose only to install WLM, Photo Gallery and Movie Maker. I did not want the others. If you choose to uninstall WLE, you are asked which apps to uninstall. When you choose Uninstall WLE you are given this choice:

    Cool

Here's an alternative to Windows Live Messenger if anybody's interested.

It has the advantage of being able to create a blocklist which Microsoft removed in the latest version of WLM which runs on Windows 7.

The standard layout is about 1 larger than WLM's double webcam views which is also gratifying.

When I installed WLE I choose to only install WLM but every program in the suite installed. Today I received an email that contained a Slide Show. When I tried to view it I was informed that it could not be started because there was a problem with Windows Live Movie Maker. I want to delete all the extraneous programs, I will try to remove the ones I don't want through the control panel.
