    Remove windows.old How?

I just installed W8 CP over the previous review version, in a Virtual Machine. I used the W8 download assistant.

Bottom line is that I have a windows.old folfer. I've tried to delete it but it says I require SYSTEM permission to do so. I tried using an Admin istrator command prompt window to RMDIR /S this directory but that also failed with an access denied message.

I did some searches on this but found no W8 related threads.

    Can someone help?

    Thanks Ted.

Actually I had seen that link in another thread.

I guess my real problem was finding the disk cleanup app. I finally figured out how to find it.

I still seems weird that I can't just delete the directory. I must be missing something.

It's much easier and quicker to use the approved method posted by MS.
