Need To Clear “Ghost” Home Group

We have a very simple home network. My PC is hardwired to the
Internet, and several family members’ laptops connect wirelessly through an inexpensive
Cisco router connected to the PC. Recently, I exchanged my aging Windows 7 PC
for a new one, fresh install from the ground up, no transferred Windows
    settings. Now everyone’s running W7 64-bit.

I had last year figured out how to give one family member’s laptop
access to the printer (a pre-wireless HP directly connected to the PC) by
making it available in a Windows Home Group I created on the PC. A second
family member recently tried (without asking me) to create a Home Group from
his laptop to gain printer access and then came to me when it didn’t work. In
trying to get this straightened out, I discovered that the first laptop no
longer had access, either, and that the new PC was telling me it had been
invited to join a Home Group. I told the creative member to exit from Home
Group, and then created a new one on the PC. No luck; the laptop can’t find the
printer, and I am still getting the message that I have been invited to join a Home
Group. I need to clear this.

I have gone through Windows Help’s steps for removing all three computers from whatever Home Group might exist., so that I can create a new one, and then give the laptops printer access.
Any insight into how to clear the ghost Home Group and make the
new availability will be greatly appreciated.

    Homegroup

Thanks. I had already done that. However, one user had then repeated the creation of a new group, resulting in my getting the same "join" message. Once that was cleared, everything proceeded properly.
