    Advance Filter (Excel 2000)

How do I state the criteria:

If I have a database with description field "A123 M1 TO BE ORDERED" and I only want to do the filter on M1 what will be my criteria in the description column of the criteria range

    Thanks

    Hi,
If your data always has 4 characters and a space to the left of the 'M1', you could use ?????M1 in the criteria. If not, you could use *M1 but that will find M1 anywhere within the description field which may not be what you want.
    Hope that helps.
