Further troubleshooting suggestions for the issues still seen with the latest flash version here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/...h-mozilla.html and also an announcement in the forums: http://forums.adobe.com/community/fl...ew=discussions click the Show details link to the right of the Announcement to see:
Announcement: Attention - Flash Player 11.3 Problems and Solutions

First, we apologize for any problems that you may be encountering with the latest version of Flash Player 11.3. We are working around the clock to resolve these issues and I'll update this thread as soon as I have information to share.

Please see below for known problems and workaround's if your system is affected:

    Windows Firefox Users

Problem: Flash content does not appear on a web page or an error appears when trying to play videos.

Solution: This is most likely caused by a conflict with RealPlayer. Please see this video or FAQ for steps to work around this problem.

Problem: Firefox or Flash Player crash when viewing web pages, Flash video and games.

Solution: Please update to Flash Player 11.3.300.262. More details can be found in the announcement post.

    Sound Problems

Problem: Audio does not play, sound is distorted, or only selected audio channels work (eg. stereo output when it should be surround sound).

Solution: Please revert back to either Flash Player 11.2 or Flash Player 10.3 until we are able to fix this problem. You can subscribe to our Announcements forum to be notified as soon as an update is made available. Simply visit the forum and click "Receive email notifications" on the right side of the page.

Thank you. I will update this post as information becomes available.

Today I was informed by File Hippo that Flash Player 11.3.300.262 for Non-IE was available. Should I install this one and skip version 262?

I would like to thank who ever corrected my mistake with the version numbers. I must have been half asleep when I wrote it.

    Skip 257? Yes, grab 262.

But be aware that 11.3.300.262 still has issues (some are the same as 257's) and some users have said they have problems with it that they didn't have with 257!

I believe that most of the users with problems are using Firefox. Since I seldom use FF the problems will not afffect me as much.

After enduring for many years FF users chiming in with "Use a proper browser" as the answer to any IE question, I'm sorely tempted to turn the tables at this point!

I have been testing FF V14 with my Win 8 RP, but recently changed back to IE 10. I did not see any reason to use FF over my IE. Plus I did have a problem with one add on. Perhaps this was because it was a beta FF, but then again I was having a problem with FF V13 which is why I tried V14. Yes, there are a couple of irritations with IE, but it's my browser of choice.
