New Records in Data Forms (Excel 97)

I am using a data form in Excel to add info to a data set. I have 1936 records entered. If I add a new record the blank form appears but when I type I get the error:

    Cannot extend list or database

I copied the data to another file and used the data form. I was able to add record number 1937 but recieved the error again when I tried to add 1938. Any assistance w/ this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

It worked OK for me. I did a test on 2000 items and it worked OK for 2001 and 2002 items. I am using Excel 97 SR-2 (i)

Did you check to see if there is anything on the MSKB?

A blank space or something similar may have invaded a cell in the worksheet. Select the first blank row (the entire row), and holding Shift, press End followed by the down arrow. Then select Edit, Clear, All. That might help with the problem.
