Face.com which makes facial recognition software has been acquired by Facebook for $60m. This is undoubtedly going to raise more privacy concerns especially since the app cannot be disabled. All a user can do is to opt-out of "Timeline and Tagging" to prevent their name and photo being suggested to their friends. But it won't prevent Facebook from building a profile of a user together with their photo which might be used for other purposes without their permission.
