In WORD 2003 Is there any way to move a picture lower in a line of type? I am trying to create a list of instructions and occasionally I want to include a picture for clarification.
When I insert the picture into the brackets I previously typed into the text line it always ends up showing up above the line of type, and I can't find a way to lower it down even with the type. The document text is 14 pt Arial.
I have attached an example.
I have tried going into:
Format Picture> Layout in line with text>Advanced
but all options are greyed out. I have also tried the Square Format which allows some options but nothing I have put in any box seems to work.
Can anyone tell me if what I want to do is possible or how I can achieve what I want to do?

Inline with text is mutually exclusive with the Advanced options that's why they are greyed out. To use the advanced options choose one of the Wrapping options. My guess is that you want wrapping on BOTH sides.

2012-06-21 18:42It looks like you placed the graphic inline so you just have to select it and use the font (character) formatting dialog to change its position.
From memory of Word 2003 this is probably in Format > Font > Advanced and lower the position (kind of like setting a subscript character). In Word 2010 you get there by clicking the tiny dialog launcher in the Font Group of the Home Ribbon.Andrew Lockton, Chrysalis Design, Melbourne Australia

2012-06-27 14:14Thanks for the input, sorry it has taken me so long to get back to the project.
I did solve my problem – sorta. In order to line it up close I did the
following:
1. Typed out desired Text including the brackets that surround the graphic.
2. Clicked between brackets and inserted graphic in place.
3. Highlighted only the Text using the CTRL key to get both sides around graphic.
(Made sure that graphic was not highlighted).
4. Right Clicked on Text and chose Font>Superscript>OK.
5. Increased Font size to 22.
I ended up with this result.
