Another complication related to a drop down menu

I've used a range name to have the drop down menu present the list of names.

Suppose there are 5 choices from column A.

I have another block of cells that match these 5 choices from col B - G with an "x" in the cell is this person is available for the task and either blank or a 0 (don't care which) if this person is not available for the task.

I want the drop down now to show only people available flagged in column B.

In another row, same drop down, but want to show only those names that are available from column C.

Is it possible to have the drop down (range names) depend on the B column or the C column, etc. ???

Are you using data validation, FORMS, or control toolbox items for the dropdown?
Could you attach a sample file?

With the control toolbox, you loop through the list and only add items that have the x at runtime, for the others you will need an intermediate column which extracts the list via code or formulas.

I used an intermediate column and it did what I needed. Thanks for the other suggestions. /Kevin
