iPod Touch: automatically copied on texts?

Hello,

My 13 year old son wants an iPod Touch which he will be using mainly for texting and I want to make sure he is keeping everything appropriate.

Is there a way that I can be copied on all of his sent and received texts, either to my phone or to my email? This way I can still monitor him even if he deletes the texts from his iPod.

Or, is there a way to disable his ability to delete the texts in the first place?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

By default, the iPod Touch doesn't have phone capabilities. Therefore, you can't send SMS or make calls with it straight out of the box.

You can however install a free app from the Apple Store which will enable it to send SMS, but the device may not being able to receive them. Check the relevant FAQ to determine what the possibilities are.
