The budget carrier Thai Air Asia has announced that it will move operations from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport to Don Mueang International Airport from October 1st this year. This is going to mean a gruelling bus journey to get from one airport to the other since the route takes you through the heart of the city albeit via toll roads.
If you're planning to fly from Bangkok to Phuket, or Chiang Mai for example using a budget carrier, then allow an additional 1-2 hours for the journey to avoid missing your flight.
Personally, I don't relish the thought after an 11 hour flight from Amsterdam.
