Yes, talk to your companies IT personnel and see if they can create an exception.
If not, your workplaces does not want you doing so and they have every right to restrict
whatever they see fit on their own systems.
Although I don't necessarily recommend this, there are proxy services (some free) which can get around firewall restrictions. But if you get caught doing this, you might be risking your job. Maybe just use iTunes to download outside of work.

It could be Itunes too. I finally gave up on iTunes and told them to stop sending me stuff and offers.
If they cannot make a 'user friendly' page they dont deserve my business.
