Outlook 2010 E-mail has gotten moody!

I have several e-mail accounts set up in Outlook 2010. All work fine it appears except one, and that one [a POP account] receives mail fine, but gives me the error below on every send.

I tried deleting the account and recreating it. I tried using a different PST file.

If I use the "Test account settings" button on the e-mail setup tab, it appears to work -- just not when I actually try to receive and send email. EVERY time I try to send and receive e-mail through that account, I get the error below. talked to the ISP, and they say it's on my end, since the web mail works -- makes sense, but doesn't help me any.

What the heck could it be, and how the heck do I fix it?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

But I don't have an Exchange server. This is a straight POP account -- and all my other accounts, POP and IMAP, same ISP work fine.

Have you tried re-booting with in clean boot mode (i.e. all startup programs disabled except something absolutely necessary)?

Have you tried starting Outlook with addins disabled?

    Also, see Howto-Outlook send/receive errors

Nothing worked guys -- excepted a clean install of Outlook and rebuilding the profiles! THAT hasn't happened too often, thank goodness

    Thanks,
    Chuck

Did you try a new mail profile before re-installing Outlook? That is often a less drastic solution.

Joe, yea I did -- twice. With all the different issues I've had over the years, THAT was a first. Some [tiny] piece somewhere got screwed up I suppose...

    Thanks,
    Chuck
