    UpdatusUser

I have just discovered that a new folder has been created in my C:\Users folder, named UpdatusUser. The subfolders of that new folder do not appear to contain anything that is not in my C:\Users\Roy folder. The folder was created 2 days ago.I have no idea why.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

    Please advise.

    Thanks and regards, Roy

Is the folder in question directly in the Users folder or in the "username" folder? Quite often new folders spring up after app installs or changes we make somewhere. What changes have you made in the involved time frame?

For some reason this 'dummy' user is created by nVidia, checking whether driver updates are needed.

Later... Lots about UpdatusUser on the nVidia website!

Perhaps that is why I do not have this folder. My laptop has an ATI graphics adapter. I do notice regularly that when I install something, even to trial it, and subsequently uninstall the app, the specialized folders created by that installation remain behind, and often because the names of these folders is very ambiguous, it's difficult to ferret out these un-needed folders.

BATcher, thanks a lot.I did install the latest nVidia driver for my graphics card a few days ago, and the link you provided explains why I have the extra user folder.

    Best regards, Roy
