Another perspective on saying good-bye to the Start Orb

ZDNet has posted an article with another perspective on why the Start Orb is not needed.

I guess those that do not know if Win 8 is for them, on the fence so to speak, want to read all opinions. I know from my perspective, I do not use the Start Orb nearly as often as others do. That's just me.

Very simple to do. There are several methods in Win 8 RP to allow a brief glimpse of Metro followed by a switch to the Desktop. A couple are covered in this thread. The first three bullet items can be easily accomplished with a small add-on called Classic Shell, and others.

He's not talking about after market stuff, he's talking about Microsoft putting the Start Menu back on the desktop taskbar, and having a simple option, on the Personalization Screen, to boot to the desktop. I know that I will hate anything else.

I do realize what he is talking about. I do not think he will get it so I'm pointing out alternatives.
