    Eject drives at Shutdown

    Anyone know of a gadget that will automatically Remove any 'mounted' USB Drives at shutdown

    Hello. A shutdown removes them all !

    That's what I thought, but I cant find anything at MS that says so categorically.
    However I can find plenty of 'expert opinions' that says you should remove USB Drives before shutdown.

    It is better to safe remove USB drives before shutdown as it speeds up the shutdown process but windows will automatically shut them down during shutdown but will take a little longer to finish.

    Thanks - that's consistent with my experience - and if its a sleeping spinning disk (power save mode) then it can take a lot longer to finish.
