More than one Cell Being Selected - Excel 2010

I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything, so I apologize if this has been discussed already.

Several users here are having an intermittent problem when trying to select a cell in an Excel 2010 worksheet, where the next two cells down will also be selected. I've been able to fix it by having them change the view. Is this a known bug? Is there a way to fix it permanently so it doesn't happen in the future?

It's an issue I've heard of on several occasions when not using Normal view (Page Break Preview seems to be the most common). I'm not aware of any specific cause being identified as it seems fairly rare nor of any fix. (I never use PBP mode so have never had the issue)
