    Exclamation Laptop Motherboard Identity

Does anyone know of any freeware software able to identify the motherboard make/brand on a 'Systemax' laptop. Belarc Advisor, whilst being very good, is unable to do this. I do not want to strip the laptop down to component level to read any identifying data. Thanks

    Try this:

Log into a user account in Windows XP/Vista or Windows 7 on your laptop.

Click on the orb-shaped button in the lower left corner of the screen.

    Access the "Start" menu.

    Open "All Programs". Click "Accessories".

Select the folder "System Tools". Click on "System Information". This action will open a system information window.

Click on "System Summary" located in the left panel of the system information window.

Locate the "System Model" (information about the motherboard model) and System Manufacturer (name of the manufacturer). These will be located on the right panel.

    OR

You can also Search for System Information instead of drilling down to System Information.

    CPUID Hardware Monitor

    SIW

    Speccy 1.17.340

Either of the above will ID your mobo, although SIW & Speccy Portable 1.17.340
will provide a bit more info.
