DVD burning: can Win 7 Pro 64-bit burn-and-verify?

I have been using a very disappointing Roxio Creator ( Corel) piece of software (Creator 2011) which has stopped working for reasons unknown and apparently un-fixable as far as I can tell in working with their help desk. I would be happy to use the Win 7 burner, but cannot find any way to make it verify the DVD contents after burning. I want to use the burner for data backup, and un-verified is no good to me.
    Any help?

I use image burn from http://www.imgburn.com/
It is free fast and will verify burns for you and has numerous options for the real experts. I have used it for years and never had a bad burn. I would uninstall that bloated Roxio product and not look back.

    Thanks for your suggestion.
That is a very confusing website to me! Is it the Grab and Burn product that you end up with? There are so many different freebies offered there!!

Windows 7 Pro can burn and verify, however a free utility will be easier to use and give you more flexibility and speed.
I have used this one for a long time: http://cdburnerxp.se/download

I know, it says "CDburnerXP" but it runs just fine on my Win 7 Pro 64 bit machine.

As always watch the install process closely as you never can tell when one of these "Free" software packages tries to slip in some 'extra' software that the developer thinks you can not live without.
I have not had this problem here yet.
