    TI 2010 can create boot flash drives. I have done it for a pair of computers that had no optical drives. It's a better option, if the computer can boot from a flash drive, even more so because no media is wasted...

    "Bany",
    Hello... My Acronis True Image Home V- 7046 boot disk's have been created with CD's (700 MB) also the same going back to version 10, 11, 2009. Also with the 2010 Acronis with "PlusPack" is still created with a CD... As far as their (Acronis) Removal tool ... It also has never removed all when i have tried to Uninstall and re-install if there was a problem..The only thing that actually worked for me was "Total Un-install" ( had to have created a "Snapshot before you installed TI) or to recover to a time before there was a problem , or before TI was installed... Just my experience... Regards Fred

    My both 2010 and 2011 Acronis Boot Disks fit on a CD as well. Did not need the size of a DVD.

    Update on my XP---- Acronis TI boot disk saga;

    D/Loaded EasyToDo 4.5 free, installed and it made a boot disk that works fine.

    But as per previous post, Bought a new HP dvd/cd drive and tested it out by making a couple Virus detection CD's and works fine so tried to make a Acronis CD boot disk (as before, it said it was successful) "But as before" it did not work.

    There has to be an issue between XP and TI 2010---------- IMHO.

    Jag,
    Hello... The issue is TI is "corrupted", or your "security" is somehow stopping Acronis.. My thought is still that you need to recover to a time before you had this issue ..Or before you loaded TI.... Regards Fred

    For the last year or so i've used MS security essentials along with Malwarebytes and CCleaner every week or so.

    I think i'll install TI 2010 on my Vista HP laptop and see if it'll burn a CD that will work on this XP desktop.

    Jag,
    Hello... That will still not resolve the "issue".... You have a problem with your XP Desktop and Acronis ...I have XP Pro SP-3 and have no issues with Acronis 2010 v 7046 .... it works. Regards Fred

    Hello... Don't you have an "Image" made by Acronis ..when all was working? Also have you tried to do the Acronis "Repair" from their "Install" download or your TI disk? Regards Fred

    @J P Fred;
    I tried the repair from the reg download and that didn't help.

    I've just restored an image from Jan 2012 from the desktop (remember no boot disk) and after many-many updates to install I want to try the burn disk issue but haven't yet.

    Will post later after I get up the nerve :-)

    "Jag",
    Like i said ... I know of no way to "fix" TI once it's gone "bonkers"... Other than to recover to a time before.... Been there done that... Regards Fred

    PS: Hope you took a "Image' Before you did the recovery, you did ...didn't you?

    PPS: You should try this before you do any "Up Dating"
