Outlook Signature: Extra Line Before and After

Outlook 2007 places an extra line before and after the signature. In effect, it is double-spacing before and after the signature. Is there a way to prevent the extra lines? In other words, when I insert the signature, I want it to appear on the line immediately below the text of my message, not with an extra line inserted between the text and the signature. I've searched and tried lots of stuff, so a great big CONGRATS to anyone who can solve this one for me!

Outlook Signature: Extra Line Before and After

Hi ruirib, Thanks for your reply. The blank line is still there (before and after the signature) but at least it is not a double-spaced line, i.e., when pressing the down arrow from the last line of the message text, the cursor does not jump over the blank line to land on the signature; but rather, the curson lands in the blank line above the signature. This makes it a little easier to delete that line, so your response did not completely solve the problem but it was helpful. Perhaps the reason that the problem was not completely solved is that I am using Outlook 2007, while the reference link was for 2003. In any case, thanks again.

In 2010, I have the same issue if the signature is included by default. If I add the signature by clicking the appropriate icon from the ribbon, no lines are added before the signature. Maybe try it that way?
