Is my RAM going bad?

My system is starting to run very slow, especially when trying to open, re-name, or move folders or files in Explorer. Sometimes the system will lockup immediatly upon startup. It was running fine. I've run my virus scanner and that's clean. I had heard that when RAM goes bad it causes problems like this. Anyone have a comment or any suggestions? (Win98 SR2 & Win2000 dual boot, P-III 800, 256MB PC-133 SDRAM, ASUS CUSL2 board, IBM Deskstar 75GXP, GeForce2, SB Live!, MS Office XP, IE 6.0)

Whilst it is possible I would think it unlikely as from the look of your configuration it's fairly new. Have you been maintaining your hard disk - scandisk, defrag, remove rubbish etc regularly???? There are a number of utilities that can clean your system but my present favourite is Ultra Win Cleaner. It is available from BLCorp.
