    Strange Vista startup screen

    Hi everyone

when I start up Vista I normally see the standrard windows start up, i.e the progress bar. Then Vista loads.

Today instead of the the progress bar I get a black screen with a green abstract vista-esque like shape. This disappears when Vista loads.

I've taken a jpg of it, and attached to this post.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? How can I get rid of it?

Struggling to think of what's caused it as I haven't made any changes to the PC for weeks.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Simon, It is not always a good idea to display your email address. People are constantly trolling for new email addresses to start spamming. Just a recommendation.

Seems it looks like the screen referred to here, as Aurora. Seems to be a "hidden" boot screen. The question is how it was activated, but it doesn't seem to indicate that you are having any kind of issues.

I guess I should have asked if the PC still seems to boot normally?

Hi, I've managed to revert the boot screen back to normal. Thanks for the instructions ruirib.

I've no idea how this option got enabled as I very rarely use MSCONFIG.

I'm running some virus and malware checks just to be safe.

    Thanks again.
