    No Windows Secrets address?

When I get e-mail notices of my posts in Outlook 2010, the "From" shows as "Windows Secrets Lounge", but with no e-mail address.

I [obviously!] know who and from where such comes from, but what if I did not? What causes e-mail addresses to be blank like that, and how does one resolve it?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

Silly, isn't it? Try adding it to a safe senders list.

It's not just you; I believe we all get the same now.

Only Windows Secrets Lounge can fix it, and should.

It's not a "safe senders list" issue, Bruce, because there's no address to "make safe!"

I probably should have added an exclamation mark or something to hint that I was being sarcastic.

Yes, the blank address makes it impossible to add to a safe senders list. One reason it should be fixed.

I have had this issue with the new missing reply address as well. Such mail gets sent to my quarantine folder by my ISP. I CAN'T add it to the safe senders list because there is NO return address.

I sent an email to the Windows Secrets editors and they essentially brushed it off as an issue that the forum people should fix. After several messages to the forum folks with NO response whatsoever, I think they are just kissing us off as whiners. In large part, that is why I stopped frequenting these forums since they seem to be managed by a don't care attitude. After alll, how many months to keep up the "shiny new forums" display before you take it down. Here, it seems to be there just in case they did do a shiny new forum update and the announcement is already there (the existing announcement is from January 2011 - sheesh).

    The old FROM: address was:

    "Windows Secrets Lounge" <webmaster@windowssecrets.com>

    The new FROM: address is:

    "Windows Secrets Lounge" <>

with <> being an empty list. If they think this cuts down on harvesting email addresses, too late, that ship has left the dock.

Somehow the reply address had been modified. It has been set to contact@windowssecrets.com.

This is fixed now. The new address is contact@windowssecrets.com.
