Question re: Laptop in Sleep Mode

I wasn't sure whether this is the right forum to post in. If not, I apologize.

I'd like to know what the ramifications are of leaving a laptop (plugged in of course) in sleep mode for days or weeks at a time? If it makes a difference - it's a Toshiba running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Intel Core i3 @ 2.4 Gz

    Lorraine,

I'm no battery expert but I do think that leaving a battery constantly on a charger is not good for it. Also you are using, allbeit very little, electricity and generating heat, cusuing more electric use for the A/C. Also there is some wear and tear on the power brick with the amount depending on the reliability and consistency of your local power. IMHO.

I wouldn't do it either. If you plan to leave it for weeks unattended, hibernate it or even shut it down, altogether.

Also, Windows does some maintenance chores when you reboot your PC.
