Want to migrate back from WLM 2011 to WLM 2009

    Hi all,

    New here.
For those of you that have done this please advise if I must export all saved emails and contacts and then import them into the 2009 version?
Or do they remain in their original location and 2009 will automatically find them?
I assume I will have to save all my account info (PW, name , etc) to enter so 2009 will go to my ISP & d/l the mail.

Tired of not being able to forward photos that are sometimes stuck in the cloud. Family pix in particular to send on to others.

    TIA
    Jim

    Windows Live Mail 2009

Uninstall the WLM 2011 first, then install WLM 2009.

    Hi JimW1938

    WSL.JPG

I had been using WLM 2009 version as IMHO it was miles better than the newer versions. I have now started using WLM 2012 and it is excellent.

    Aye Laddie,

Thanks. Does 2012 allow forwarding pictures which 2011 blocks? Guess I'll have to try it or go back to 2009 version.

    Hi Jim,

Do you mean forwarding photos that are already included in the message as attachments. If so, I am not sure, but if the photos are in the body of the message it will work. Will try it for you.

    Hi Jim,

I sent an email with an attached photo using Gmail to a Hotmail address, forwarder it to another Gmail address, attached photo intact.

    Thanks Roderunner.

That's the problem I have been having. Some (and only some) photos cannot be forwarded because they are not imbedded in the email. I get a warning the pix not found meaning it is in the cloud and and not really on my PC. Going to try 2012 seeing as you had success and if that works I will stay with that, otherwise back to 2009.

I have also been using 2012 quite effectively for a while. I know RR tried 2011, then went back to 2009. It's nice to see that 2012 is working for him.

Well I'm going to use 2012 for the present. Tried to send photos from an older email and got the same result. That indicates that the pix were never on my PC but in the cloud. Will now wait for someone to send me a new email with imbedded pix and see what happens when I try to forward it. If it gives the same result I will export the contacts and saved emails (just to be safe), uninstall 2012 and install 2009.
Will report back when I have results - good or bad.

I only used one photo in my test, (normally I add it to the body of the message) and it looked like this:-

    RR.JPG

If I was sending multiple photos, I would put them in a folder, then attach it.
If you get mail with attachments, right click & save as.... then re attach when forwarding.
