    My Memory Is Shrinking

Recently I started using sleep mode and I notice that every time I wake up from sleep I am using less memory...

Normal use is usually about 23% of 8GB.

First time I awoke I was using about 20%

Second time I awoke I was using about 15%...

Right now, with my mail program open and IE open I am using 19% after 3 awakes from sleep.

I am left to conclude something is not waking upon awake...

I know I can check the processes etc. to see if something didn't wake but that really a hassle to do.

Does anyone know an easy way to check why my memory usage decreases each time I awake????

I hope you all stayed awake while reading this.. While I await your solutions, I'm gonna take a nap...Wake me when you have something..

    Thanks Guys...

There is nothing to be concerned with if you are not experiencing any active performance related issues or errors.
Nothing is failing to awaken, if there is even such a thing, and the best way to free up memory is a system restart.

My memory is shrinking as well! Oh you mean your PC's memory. Sorry wrong context. Have a couple on me while I recharge my batteries.

Well Clint, while I don't have any issues I am just curious why it happens.

Most likely Windows has swapped out your apps/data to the pagefile. It will not put those apps/data back into RAM until they are needed. Note also that swapping to the pagefile is not an all-or-nothing thing - parts of your apps or data that are not directly in use could be in the pagefile. For example, the code used to print an email might still b in the pagefile even when you are reading or writing emails.

Thanks midnight! I thought perhaps my mind had faded so much no-one even saw my attempt at a humorous post.
