    CD Drive not recognized

I'm using XP-SP3, and recently Windows Explorer doesn't recognize a CD inserted into the drive. It will boot to a bootable CD, but once Windows is open, it won't read the same CD. On a hunch, I installed another CD drive with the same results.
    Any ideas?

Sounds like the Upper/Lower filters problem. See:

Thanks, Jerry. That did the trick. The "Fix it for me" didn't fix it, but the manual procedure did.

Glad it worked. I normally use the manual instructions instead of the Fixits anyway because I like to know exactly what's being done.
