Rebellion: toward an honest search site

I am sick to death of Google and Yahoo ignoring what I ask for.
The small ones I've tried seem little better.
The more search terms I specify, the higher the proportion of false finds.
I would gladly wait a bit longer to receive a page that only showed just what I had asked for.
It would save frustration as well as time.
The Advanced Search options are just a trick - whatever restrictions you specify, they make very little difference to what is presented to you.

Can we encourage an honest software company to compete with these Goliaths and provide accurate search results?

Or, would it be possible to engineer an add-on that would filter Yahoo output, for instance, and only display results that matched the specified enquiry? How would you make money? Code it so that it would only run after re-validating the signed-up user's PayPal account, and then would charge it two cents a click. It shouldn't take many months to catch on.

Try Copernic Agent, which I think now has a free version available.

I second the complaint. While we are at it, are there any search engines that use full Boolean operators (AND/OR/NOT) to filter results?

This thread has the most valuable information I have ever found on this site. A thousand thanks to harrodsyd for starting it and those who added the links to search engines which are respectful of the user. I had no idea that sites like these existed.
Today's god is money, and that upper 1% is populated with people who are never able to have the feeling of "This is enough." And ultimately, the money making behemoth search engines become owned by the never satisfied money lusting folks. If compromising your privacy can make them a buck, then it's your privacy to the toilet! To me, the interesting thing to watch will be if success comes to these privacy respecting businesses (they will surely be getting my business!) whether they will similarly be acquired, then corrupted, by the endlessly greedy 1%. They have already seen to it that we have the very best government that money can buy. Where will those who respect their customers end up? Stay tuned. . . .
