Installing the Kindle app on the Windows 8 Enterprise version

Has anyone else tried to install the Kindle Windows 7 app on the Windows 8 Enterprise Evaluation version?

It seemed to install Okay, and I have the icon pinned to my task bar, but it won't run. When I click on it the icon "glows", but then after a few seconds it goes back to inert, and the app does not start.

I installed the Kindle Windows 7 app on another version of Windows 8, and it ran okay, but I'm not sure if it was CP or RP.

All I can say is that it works on the RTM Windows 8 Pro version. I have it running.

The app is not always very solid. It behaved as you stated, for me, in Windows 7. I uninstalled it, installed it again and it worked. Maybe try that, it might solve your problem.

I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it.

The last time when I installed it, it asked XP, Vista, or Windows 7. This time it had one download button for XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

This time it asked for my user name and password, which it didn't the last time, then it started up and showed me my books.

I pinned the icon to the task bar and shut it down.

Then I clicked on the icon in the task bar, and it started up okay.

Then I tried it on my Windows 7 computer, and it didn't work there. Oh well.

Yes, as I said, the Kindle app is not the most robust app I have seen.

I do not know about the Kindle app, but the Nook for PC app works very well on the desktop.
