can connect to router but not the internet

Hello great forum, first time I've had to post.

Using windows xp professional, firefox and IE. I can connect to the router but not the net. DNS configuration issues I believe. However what is confusing is that I can connect to an unsecured network from a neighbour and browse fine. Its only my router that fails to push me onto the internet. Only change recently, was I disconnected my router as it was very hot, do it once and a while with no issues. when i plugged back in got this issue. Do i need a new router?? Mush appreciated. K

    Hi,

    Welcome to the Lounge.

Is your router getting an IP from your ISP?

You should be able to check when you login to your router's admin section. What router are you using?
