    Getting text out of tables

I want to extract large amounts of text from tables - is there a way?
I have a friend who puts everything in tables - grrrr! He has a tune list of over 200 tunes for our band. I want to extract these tunes so that I can use them in Word. I can extract them one at a time - cut and paste - but 200!!!? Is there a way of 'untabling' the table - or another way of getting at the text. I know I can hide the table but that is no good - I want to get at the text so that I can use it normally.
    Help!

I have Word 2000 and I am able to convert table to text.
Select the table, choose convert table in the drop down list & left click table to text
--- Choose the separation method you prefer
You probably have a newer version of Word, but see Help for converting a table text
