Macro to Compare 2 Word Documents

I am having trouble "programming" a button to compare 2 docuemnts....I don't know if it can be done. I understand how to do a simple macro w/in word which will change font for example. That was my first macro....Now I would like to open 2 docuemnts and compare those 2 docuements, which involves strokes like going to the desktop and grabbing file 1 and opening it, grabbing file 2 and opening it, and comparing the documents, then SAVING the new compared doc....I am trying to do this all in word. I get a runtime error which looks greek to me....any thoughts?

What version of Word are you using? Word 2007 has a comapare function in the review tab.

Yes, I know about he compare document. I am wanting to make a macro that will go and compare 28 documents, each to the master file. I can do this and generate new compare files...but that is where I want one button I can program to do all the key strokes for me (i.e. open files, compare, save).
