    Windows Explorer

My Windows Explorer view no longer displays Folders in the left pane. The pane is blank. I can use it for search or history but not folders. Additionally, the right pane always defaults to Large Icons. The explorer is fully functional except for these anomalies. I can open documents, copy, paste, delete, sort etc.

This glitch occurred after performing a restore action.

My Windows Explorer is acting pretty much the same way, except that I can change views from large to small icons, list, details, etc. But the left pane will not display folder info. It will show search, media, and history. No folder view appears, period.

    Tools > Folder Options
Is everything set to 'classic' view?

    Re: Windows Explorer

    Glen,
I fixed my problem by getting rid of Windows ME (and good riddance). I reformatted my hard drive, installed Windows XP, re-installed my applications and data and never looked back. Other than some not unexpected compatibility issues, the conversion is a very pleasant experience. XP really is a giant leap forward.
