Question IE8 favorites to IE9 bookmarks

I saved IE8 Favorites (as a folder of subfolders and links) before reformating the drive and installing win7. How do I import them into the new IE9 browser's bookmarks? I now know I did this wrong, but all I have is this folder of links and the IE9 import wizard asks for a bookmark.htm file. Wht is the fastest way to move them into IE9 now that I only have them as links in a folder?

Just copy the IE8 favorites folder contents to:
    C:\users\your_user_name\favorites
