Windows 8/Windows Secrets Lounge Internet Explorer 10 Editing Issue

Strange: I can create a post (such as this one) in the Lounge using IE 10 under Windows 8 (64-bit); but cannot edit it. I have to go to IE 9 under Windows 7 (64-bit) to do so???? (Similarly, I cannot enter comments into Face Book or get any reaction when trying to click on "like" in FB when using IE 10 under Windows 8 (64-bit)?????

Note: I have just discovered I CAN edit this thread under Compatibility View using IE 10 under Windows 8 (64-bit)

Peter, I have been using compatibility view for quite some time in IE 10. My problem is getting carriage return when using Enter key.

I can't do this (blank lines) unless I'm in compatibility view. I suspect this is mostly due to web pages not rendering this new browser correctly yet.

    Glad you got yours working.

Thanks Ted. Strangely (again!!) Compatibility View in IE10 is greyed-out for Face Book(??) SI I have not yet found a way to use FB with IE10 under Windows 8 (64-bit). Cheers and enjoy the week-end.

Try using the Gear icon, F12 Developer Tools and set Compatibility view from there. I believe you can set it so it's always used.

I have no problems with Facebook using IE10 64 bit with either the Modern UI or desktop version.
Try running IE 10 with no addons
    Windows key then type run
    Type iexplore.exe -extoff

If you can now access facebook, disable your current add ons one at a time until you identify the culprit.

@jwitalka: I have tried all you suggested: Still no joy with Facebook and IE10. I note that some other FB users have experienced this problem under other versions of Windows and with IE7, 8 and 9 and even with Firefox; so it seems the cause is "something else". Unfortunately, I have not yet found how anyone has resolved this issue, despite numerous reported cases (there is even a Facebook page devoted to it!) I am still able to access and use FB via Windows 7, IE9 in my Virtual machine (but clearly this is a hassle I want to overcome). (Strangely, I have also found I cannot post in the Lounge from IE10 unless I go into compatibility view)

Did you try Chrome? Would be less hassle than the Virtual Machine.
