Fix for the most recent IE zero-day threat

    PATCH WATCH

Fix for the most recent IE zero-day threat

    By Susan Bradley

As expected, Microsoft quickly released an out-of-cycle patch for Internet Explorer. It's the only critical update on the monthly second edition of Patch Watch.
Microsoft also clarified its policy on the version of Flash embedded in IE 10.

Is there a reason why the latest patchwatch table does not include any Sept 2012 patches?

Is there a reason that you brought back 5 patches that were removed from the previous list (Feb to Apr)?

And as Chris noted, no mention of the patches from 2 weeks ago, or the one you recommended in this article.

I hope this is just an oops that will not be repeated in the future, we do pay attention to the list.

Two of the three, for most users, from 9/11 said "Install" in the previous patch watch chart, so would not be included in this one.

"Patches listed below as safe to install will be removed from the next updated table."

But one, KB 2735855 (hotfix for Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) applications), said Hold in one place, Wait in another on 9/13 but has now dropped off the chart, WHICH MAKES NO SENSE WHATSOEVER.

The Patch Watch chart is worse than useless.

    Regularly updated problem-patch chart
Is there any way that a small program from you could check my computer, and compare it with your patch watch and automagically install the appropriate changes, without using MS Automatic Updates?

Yes Bruce - 2735855 was the one I was wondering about.
