    Footers: Show footer on page 1 only if there is a page 2 - How?

    I'm working on a letter in Word 2002. If it's a 1 page letter, the footer is blank. If a page 2 is created, I need page numbering to show at bottom of page 1, 2, etc.

    Have experimented with field codes but kinda guessing at the IF statement. If the doc has a page 2, "Page 1 of 2" displays in page 1 footer, otherwise, footer is blank.

    Here's what I have so far {IF {PAGE} < 1 " {PAGE}" "" Page {PAGE} of {NUMPAGES}}

    Please let me know the correct field coding for footer. Also, if a different section is needed, please advise.

    Thank you for your help!
