Mouse wheel causes eratic cursor movement

I'm running Windows 7 HP SP1 and have my mouse wheel set for 3 lines of movement. For many apps (Chrome, OpenOffice, NotePad & others) it works just fine.

For several other apps (IE9, Foxit Reader, WordPad & ?) the cursor jumps half a page or more when I use the mouse wheel.

I'm using both a MS wireless mouse and a Ligitech usb mouse and the both work the same way.

    This is driving me nuts!

Can someone please help me here?

    Dave

When using the Logitech mouse did you install the Setpoint S/W. My Logitech mouse works fine when the Setpoint S/W is used along with the default Windows S/W.

I have seen some reports that Logitech Setpoint and the Microsoft device center drivers have some conflicts.

    Thanks for the replies -

I've been to busy to try anything for the last few days, but I do believe the Logitech & MS mouses did work fine together for awhile.
