Reusing office 2003 license after move from xp x64 to win 7

I'm considering a clean install of Win 7 x64 Pro and am moving from XP x64. How can I reuse my licensed copy of Office 2003?

You can just insert it and it does not activate, call Microsoft and explain the situation. They are usually quite understanding.

I have upgraded 3 times with one Office 2010 installation so far. I first installed on Vista, then Win 7, and now Win 8 Ent Eval (I realize this last is a beta) and will go to Win 8 Pro in October when it is released. In every case I installed Office 2010 Pro and entered the original key. I did not even have to call MS to activate.

For Office 2003 you do have to call Microsoft. When you try to activate, it won't, because of its age, and will give you instructions to do something that doesn't work. Find Microsoft's number and call them. Seems to me I had to hunt around a lot to find a phone number, and it made me mad that they made it so difficult. Try This
800-642-7676. They will quickly give you what you need.

    MS Activation Phone Support

    This covers all these products:

    Windows 7
    Windows Vista
    Windows XP
    Office 2010
    Office 2007
    Office2003

A Google Search of MS Activation Support points to this page.

Normally if does not auto activate the box gives you a choice to use phone activation where you are asked to input your country then gives telephone numbers for you (Normally a free phone number) Takes a while entering all the numbers shown and given but normally activates unless you have installed it too many times (more than 3-5 times). If it fails on the auto phone option hang on and it will pass you to an operator.

Thanks for the info. I have a copy of Win 7 on the way. It will take awhile to get it all setup and I'll need a new drive for it . I plan to keep the old drive with win xp x64 and continue to use until the Win 7 drive and all other software is finished.
