    Exclamation HDMI Sound

I'm using a 30'' TV (Sharp) as a monitor for my HP Pavilion laptop, used manly to stream BBC Iplayer TV programs.
The laptop is connected to the TV HDMI 1 via a HDMI cable. However, although the picture is very good, there is no sound for the TV, only the Laptop has sound.
I also have a DVD player connected to the TV HDMI 2 the sound from the DVD is perfect as is the picture.

If I can get sound from the DVD, Why not from my laptop?

    Thanks

    Jimmy

Probably because your laptop only passes the video to the TV and handles the sound locally. As far as the laptop is concerned the TV is just a big monitor, not a sound system.

    cheers, Paul

Try going to the sound options (which you can access in your control panel) then set your sound default as HDMI. This should solve the problem, just remember to set the default back to the laptops speakers when you are finished using it on your TV.
